PRESS RELEASE: Pullman & Comley's Labor and Employment Practice Welcomes Donald F. Houston and Stephen M. Sedor
Bridgeport, CT: Pullman & Comley is pleased to announce the addition of Donald F. Houston and Stephen M. Sedor to the firm’s Labor and Employment and School Law practices. Both attorneys will be based in the firm’s Bridgeport office.

Mr. Houston focuses his practice on preventative labor and employment counseling advice and represents both private and public sector management in all aspects of labor and employment matters. He has significant experience representing Connecticut municipalities, school districts, private universities and businesses in the defense of unfair labor practice, occupational safety and health matters and fair employment practices, as well as collective bargaining, contract administration and grievance and interest arbitration matters.
Mr. Houston has served as an arbitrator representing the interests of boards of education under the State Teacher Negotiation Act and also has served on the American Arbitration Association Labor Management Advisory Council. He previously served as President of the Connecticut School Attorneys Council.
Mr. Houston serves on Yale University’s Alumni Schools Interview Committee and served for many years on the board of directors of the McGivney Community Center. He is the founder and former president of the Fairfield United Soccer Association, served on Fairfield College Preparatory School’s Board of Regents and served on the board of directors for the Inner City Foundation for Charity and Hope.
Mr. Houston received his B.A. from Yale University and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut; and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Sedor focuses his practice in the areas of education law, employment litigation and labor disputes. He defends public and private sector employers in lawsuits involving wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, wage and hour disputes, First Amendment and retaliation claims, unfair labor practice charges, restrictive covenants and other disputes. He provides general counseling and advice to public and private sector employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters.
Mr. Sedor also represents boards of education and municipalities on a full range of collective bargaining matters. He represents clients during collective bargaining and binding interest arbitrations, prohibited practice charges and other labor disputes. He frequently appears before the Connecticut State Board of Labor Relations and the Connecticut State Board of Mediation and Arbitration. His practice also involves representing local boards of education on general education matters, student discipline cases, teacher termination and employee discipline matters, residency issues and other matters involving boards of education. In addition to Mr. Sedor’s litigation practice, he has argued before the Connecticut Supreme Court.
Mr. Sedor was recently named the 2016 Stamford Lawyer of the Year in the “Labor Law – Management” category by The Best Lawyers in America. He received his B.A. from Clarkson University and his J.D. from the Quinnipiac University School of Law. Mr. Sedor is admitted to practice in Connecticut; New York; the U.S. District Court Northern District of New York; and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut.
