Attorney Schurin And Sommaruga Speak At CABE Legal Issues Workshop

Two members of Pullman & Comley's School Law Practice were presenters at the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) Legal Issues Workshop on December 7, 2018  at the Sheraton Hartford South Hotel in Rocky Hill, CT.  Attorneys Mark J. Sommaruga, chairman of the firm's School Law Practice, and Zachary D. Schurin presented on “Janus v. AFSCME:  Impact on School Boards and Superintendents & Action Steps to Comply while Maintaining Good Labor Relations”. This workshop was designed to provide further guidance to board members and school administrators concerning the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Janus with respect to the collection of union dues and “agency fees” and those steps necessary to comply with the decision.
