Lee Hoffman to Speak at the 2023 Northeast Sustainable Communities Workshop on Remediation Programs
Attorney Lee D. Hoffman will be speaking at the 2023 Northeast Sustainable Communities Workshop in a session titled "Connecticut Rebuilding a Remediation Program from the Ground Up."
The Transfer Act, which triggers regulatory obligations to undertake site investigation and remediation when a property is sold rather than when contamination is initially found, cannot sunset until the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) promulgates new regulations for investigating and remedying contaminated properties. To do this, DEEP convened a working group of stakeholders to assist it in developing these regulations.
Lee, who is a member of Pullman & Comley's Energy and Environmental practice and chair of the firm, will lead an informative discussion with DEEP and private sector representatives and will cover how Connecticut is distilling over 40 years of remediation experience into a new regulatory regime.
