Property Tax and Valuation Attorneys to Speak to the CT Chapter of the Appraisal Institute
Attorneys in our Property Tax and Valuation Department will present to the Connecticut Chapter of The Appraisal Institute in a panel discussion titled "Beyond the Numbers: The Role of the Appraiser in Property Tax Appeals." Gregory F. Servodidio, chair of the practice, will moderate the panel of attorneys including Laura B. Cardillo, Michael J. Marafito and Elliott B. Pollack.
Laura and Michael will outline the initial assessment process, phases of the appeal process, differences between informal and formal hearings, the court process, how appraisers and attorneys work as a team, retrospective appraisals, and more.
Elliott and Greg will cover recent legislative and judicial developments in Connecticut and New England, including recent developments at the tax court, legislative developments during the 2023 General Assembly session, and recent judicial decisions of interest to appraisers.
