The Impact of Opioids in the Workplace
Pullman & Comley Labor & Employment attorneys Robert C. Hinton and Rachel L. Ginsburg presented at a Health Law Committee program of the Fairfield County Bar Association, addressing the current opioid epidemic and what employers can do to protect their businesses and assist troubled employees. This program educated employers about the hazards associated with prescription pain medication use, especially among injured employees, and also focused on effective tools and strategies that employees can utilize, including drug testing programs and employee assistance programs, to combat the problem of opioid abuse. Bob and Rachel also provided an overview of the class action litigation against opioid manufacturers and the legal implications of blanket post-accident drug testing policies under OSHA.
