Pullman & Comley Assists Plainfield Renewable Energy Project Wins Two Deal of the Year Awards

Plainfield Renewable Energy, a $225 million biomass -fueled renewable energy project in Plainfield, CT received the Deals of the Year award from Energy Risk and the North American Mezzanine Deal of the Year 2011 award from Project Finance.  The awards were described in a March 2012 Press Release issued by The Carlyle Group.

Pullman & Comley served as local counsel for The Carlyle Group on permitting and regulatory matters in connection with the project's financing. The Plainfield Renewable Energy project is the only construction and demolition debris waste-to-power facility to receive renewable credits in Southern New England. The project is unique because it was financed by an alternative provider of debt capital with no commercial bank, investment bank, or export credit agency involved.
