Pullman & Comley Attorneys Attend CBA’s Third Annual Diversity Summit
On October 24, more than 150 people attended the Connecticut Bar Association’s Third Annual Diversity Summit at the Quinnipiac University School of Law. The Summit focused on the importance of initiatives and the ways that businesses, and law firms in particular could be more diverse. Pullman & Comley had a strong presence at the event.
In an article written by the Connecticut Law Tribune covering the summit, Jessica Grossarth Kennedy, who co-chairs Pullman & Comley’s Diversity Committee, commented on the firm’s strong recruitment efforts with the University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac University law schools. “No firm can make the change we need to make across the state by themselves,” she states. “We all need to come together.”
"Pullman attorneys," Kennedy said, "have also been the forefront of the bar’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender section." Kennedy co-founded the section and now Pullman’s Erick Russell chairs it.
In addition, Jessica is on the board of the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity. The statewide organization is involved in a college intern program and mentor/mentee program to assist diverse candidates in their career development.
