Lee Hoffman Quoted in HBJ Article on Connecticut's Battery Energy Storage Projects

Hoffman was quoted in the Hartford Business Journal article, “As CT Plans for Clean-Energy Future, 800 MW of Battery Energy Storage is in Pipeline – But Projects Face Regulatory Hurdles and Delays,” discussing the significant regulatory challenges hindering Connecticut's clean-energy ambitions.

The state has seen over two dozen large-scale battery energy storage projects proposed, with some businesses combining battery energy storage systems with solar panels or fuel cells, so they can both generate and store electricity. Lee emphasized that while the driving force of adapting battery systems with renewable energy sources may be obtaining zero-carbon or an environmental victory, there’s a financial incentive to keep costs down by “home-growing” electricity.
