Michael J. Andreana Appears on NBC Connecticut to Explain Connecticut's Tax Districts
Michael J. Andreana, co-chair of the firm's Public Finance practice, appeared on NBC Connecticut to discuss Connecticut's special taxing districts in light of the recent controversy over Disney's taxing district in Florida. Mike, who has assisted in the creation of dozens of special taxing districts across Connecticut, explained that the primary purpose of the state's taxing districts is to provide some type of government services, including for example, fire, water and sewer services around beach associations, condo associations and in certain cases, economic development areas. Mike further explained that special taxing districts are formed in Connecticut to better allocate costs to those residents who benefit from the services.
