Eliot Gersten, Jared Alfin and John Van Lenten Join Pullman & Comley, LLC
HARTFORD: Eliot B. Gersten, Jared M. Alfin and John H. Van Lenten have joined the Litigation Department of Pullman & Comley, LLC, the law firm announced today.

Eliot Gersten has joined Pullman & Comley as a partner based in the firm’s Hartford office. His practice focuses on complex litigation involving businesses, individuals and entrepreneurs from all aspects of business. Most recently he served as lead counsel for the Connecticut Republican Party in successfully challenging the qualifications of Susan Bysiewicz to run for Connecticut Attorney General. He has represented clients involved in commercial disputes and business torts, insurance coverage, construction, waste industry litigation, constitutional issues and government investigations, including the representation of clients in state and federal administrative proceedings both in Connecticut and in other states. Eliot is a member of the American Bar Association; the Connecticut Bar Association; the Hartford County Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.
In addition to his experience as an attorney, Eliot has a considerable background in business and as a developer and manager of commercial real estate in central Connecticut and western Massachusetts. He has been an initial investor in a number of companies including the Narragansett Beer Company, Waste to Water Environmental, and JDSupra, the world wide leader in online distribution of legal content and networking for lawyers and clients. A lifelong resident of the Hartford area, Eliot is a member of the Executive Committee of the Greater Hartford Arts Council and a former member of the board of trustees of the Children’s Science Museum in West Hartford. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.A. from The George Washington University.
Jared M. Alfin has joined the firm as an associate in the Hartford office. He has a broad-based practice focused on commercial litigation, business disputes and criminal defense. Jared received his J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law and his B.A. from Quinnipiac University. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association.
John H. Van Lenten has joined the firm as an associate based in the firm’s Bridgeport office. John’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and appellate matters in both the federal and state courts. Earlier in his career, he served as a law clerk to the Hon. Barry R. Schaller of the Connecticut Appellate Court. John received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Quinnipiac School of Law, and his B.B.A. from Western Connecticut State University.
