Matthew Stone Joins Pullman & Comley, LLC
HARTFORD, August 22, 2011: Attorney Matthew L. Stone has joined Pullman & Comley as an associate in the Environmental Law Department, the law firm announced today.
“We are very pleased to welcome Matt to our team,” said Diane W. Whitney, chair of Pullman & Comley’s Environmental Law Department. “His hands-on legal experience working on a range of environmental and energy issues in Connecticut will be a tremendous asset to our clients.”
Prior to joining the firm, Matt served as counsel at the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF). He represented CCEF before various administrative law and regulatory entities, including the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control. He was also responsible for drafting and negotiating various legal instruments including grant contracts and loan documents; drafting regulatory and policy plans, reports and compliance filings; and complying with CCEF's Freedom of Information Act obligations.
Matt's prior experience includes serving as brownfields coordinator for the Regional Growth Partnership in New Haven and also as legislative liaison for the Connecticut Development Authority. Matt has served as chairman of the Hydro Project Advisory Committee in Canton, Connecticut since 2009, and has been a member of Canton’s Water Pollution Control Authority since 2007. He received his J.D. from Western New England University (formerly Western New England College) School of Law and his B.A. cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
