Pullman & Comley Hosts 15th Annual Women's Networking Tea

BRIDGEPORT, Conn.: The Women’s Leadership Initiative at Pullman & Comley hosted its 15th Annual Networking Tea on Thursday, May 10 at The Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut.
The event, which brings together business women and community leaders from Fairfield County and throughout Connecticut, included as its featured guest the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA). The CMTA has a special personal relevance to Pullman & Comley, as former employee Michele Kekac suffers from CMT, as do other members of her family.
The CMTA was founded to raise awareness and fund research into the most commonly inherited peripheral neuropathy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT), named for the scientist who discovered it.
CMT is a degenerative disorder and affects the nerves that control the muscles. There is no known cure. Although CMT affects an estimated 2.6 million people, it is less commonly known than many other neurological disorders. The CMTA is the leading source of information about CMT. It offers a variety of educational materials and conferences, coordinates more than 60 national patient support and action groups, provides physician referrals and works closely with the clinical and research communities.
