Overview
Danielle Erickson is an associate in the firm's Trusts and Estates practice. Her practice involves assisting with estate planning and estate and trust administration matters. She regularly prepares estate planning documents to implement each client’s specific goals and desires. Danielle frequently counsels fiduciaries, including executors, individual and corporate trustees, and conservators, on their roles and responsibilities under Connecticut and federal law. She also helps clients navigate the Connecticut probate process and provides advice on contested probate matters.
Danielle’s practice includes matters involving non-profit organizations and their administration. She helps guide new nonprofit organizations through the formation process and application for tax-exempt status. She also helps existing nonprofit organizations with governance matters, such as updating corporate governance documents and questions on compliance with tax rules and regulations.
Prior to joining the firm as an associate attorney, Danielle was a part of Pullman & Comley’s 2022 Summer Associate Program and worked as a law clerk with the Trusts and Estates practice during the spring of 2023. Moreover, while in UConn Law’s Tax Clinic, she assisted taxpayers experiencing problems with tax refunds, tax audits, and other income tax issues. She also worked as a research assistant at the University of Connecticut School of Law researching numerous tax issues, including recent developments in the field of state and local taxation.
As a student at UConn Law, Danielle served as president of the Family Law Association, vice president of the Women Law Student’s Association, events coordinator of the Tax Law Society and symposium co-editor of the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal for the 2023 Symposium on parental rights. She also published a note in Volume 22 of the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal titled “Filial Responsibility Laws – Codifying a Qualified Quid Pro Quo of Care."
