Overview
Portia Baudisch is an associate in the firm’s Litigation practice, focusing on general commercial litigation matters. She is involved in drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, as well as conducting discovery for state and federal court cases. As a participant in Pullman & Comley’s 2023 Summer Associate Program, Portia gained valuable experience in legal research, writing, and analyzing complex litigation issues.
During law school, Portia served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas O. Farrish of the District of Connecticut, a Law Clerk Intern for the Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division: Environmental Defense Section, and a Volunteer Intern for the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General’s Environment Section. She also served on the Connecticut Law Review, and on the Executive Boards of UConn Law’s Mock Trial Society, Negotiation & Dispute Resolution Society, Energy & Environmental Law Society, and the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund.
Prior to law school, Portia worked as a fact-checker at CBS News where she led a team of fact-checkers to ensure the accuracy of legal and current affairs reporting. Before her time at CBS News, Portia was an on-air television reporter for KFOX14 & CBS4 in El Paso, Texas where she reported on local politics and legal matters. During her undergraduate career, she interned with Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, KCET in Los Angeles, and NBC Connecticut.
She has been recognized for her oral advocacy skills receiving the award for Best Oralist in the Hastie Moot Court Competition at UConn Law, of which she was also a finalist. Portia has also been recognized for her journalism skills, receiving the 2018 Best Video News Story Award from the National Broadcasting Society and WVUM 90.5 FM’s Above & Beyond News Member Award in 2017.
