Overview
Sebastian D'Acunto is a seasoned trusts and estates attorney who counsels clients in general estate planning and business succession planning. He believes that each valued client possesses unique estate planning needs and deserves an estate plan specifically tailored to his or her goals, wishes and individual and family situation. Sebastian works collaboratively with his clients and their financial and insurance advisors and routinely advises individuals and families on effective strategies to govern and preserve assets as well as how to transfer wealth to the next generation while minimizing estate tax exposure.
Sebastian’s experience includes helping individuals prepare, execute and implement estate planning documents from simple wills, living wills and powers of attorney to complex tax planning and asset preservation trusts, as well as implementing lifetime gifting and asset divestiture strategies. In addition to estate planning, Sebastian helps clients navigate the probate court process in settling decedents’ estates and in administering various types of trusts. He understands that losing a loved one is a difficult time for many, and with the assistance of highly skilled and compassionate paralegals, clients can focus on their families during this time of grief, and not concern themselves with the legal process of estate administration.
In addition to his vast knowledge of estate planning and estate and trust administration, prior to joining Pullman & Comley, Sebastian represented domestic and international clients in a broad range of corporate and business transactions and commercial and residential real estate matters, including property conveyances and mortgage financing, entity formations and capitalization, and purchase and sales transactions of business assets and equity interests.
Sebastian has dedicated his time to public service and a variety of not-for-profit causes. Over the years, he has served the City of Stamford, Connecticut as a member of the Tax Assessment Board of Appeals, the Board of Ethics, and the Mayor’s Multicultural Council. He is currently an elected member of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Ridgefield, Connecticut. Through his affiliation with numerous non-profit organizations, such as UNICO, and the Italian Center of Stamford, Sebastian has helped raise funds and awareness for many worthwhile causes.
Sebastian is fluent in Italian and is a dual citizen of the United States and the Republic of Italy. Sebastian was born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, and spent some of his formative years in Scauri, Italy. He currently resides in Ridgefield, Connecticut with his wife and daughter.
