David Bussolotta to Speak on Estate Planning at the Westport Public Library
David B. Bussolotta, an attorney in Pullman and Comley’s Trusts and Estates practice, will be speaking at a presentation titled “Aging-in-Place: How Your Home Fits into the Estate Planning Puzzle,” hosted by the Westport Public Library on October 23.
Most people prefer to stay in their homes as long as possible during retirement. However, this decision often comes with both physical and financial challenges. Ensuring accessibility and safety becomes a top priority. As incomes typically decrease in retirement, many find themselves house-rich but cash-poor, leading to questions about whether they need to move to maintain a good quality of life.
David will present alongside a mortgage specialist and home transformation designer to discuss how the home is a key element in one’s retirement planning process. Topics to be covered include:
- How your home contributes to your net worth.
- How your home fits into a business succession plan.
- Whether should you put your home in a trust.
- How to unlock that value at the right time.
- Whether a reverse mortgage right for you.
- How to design the home you need for the life you want to live.
