PRESS RELEASE: Alex V. Hernandez Recognized as a Preeminent Litigation Practitioner by Benchmark Litigation

BRIDGEPORT, Conn.: Alex V. Hernandez, a partner with Pullman & Comley, LLC, has been recommended as a litigation star in Connecticut in the 2014 edition of Benchmark Litigation, the Guide to America’s Leading Litigation Firms and Attorneys.

Releasing later this Fall, Benchmark Litigation’s results stem from the culmination of a six-month period where researchers conducted extensive interviews with litigators and their clients.  During these interviews, recent casework handled by law firms was examined and individual litigators were asked to offer their professional opinions on peers.  To be included in the guide, a litigator must have first been identified through research and by peers as one of the most preeminent litigation practitioners in the United States.

A member of the firm’s Litigation Department, Mr. Hernandez is also chair of its White Collar, Criminal Defense and Corporate Investigations Section.  Additionally, his practice includes financial restructuring; appellate; cybersecurity and infrastructure protection; municipal law and community associations.  Prior to joining Pullman & Comley in 2007, Mr. Hernandez was the Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Fairfield County office of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut where he oversaw the investigation and prosecution of criminal tax fraud, white collar crime, fraud, public corruption, computer related offenses, theft of trade secrets and violent felonies.  He also worked at the U.S. Department of Justice for 16 years where he handled and supervised hundreds of cases at all phases of litigation and served for five years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

An experienced trial attorney, Mr. Hernandez has served for years as an instructor and lecturer in trial advocacy at the Department of Justice’s National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina; a guest instructor and lecturer in trial advocacy at the Quinnipiac Law School; and an instructor in trial advocacy at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

Mr. Hernandez, appointed by Governor Dannel Malloy to the Crime Lab Working Group of the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management, holds a board of directors position at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport.
