PRESS RELEASE: Pullman & Comley Welcomes Two New Family Law Attorneys To The Firm
Hartford, CT: Pullman & Comley is pleased to announce the addition of Campbell D. Barrett and Jon T. Kukucka to the firm’s Family Law practice. Both attorneys will join the firm’s Litigation Department and will be based in Pullman & Comley’s Hartford office.
Mr. Barrett maintains a general family law practice, specializing primarily in matrimonial and appellate matters. He has participated in a wide variety of complicated family, civil, administrative and criminal matters in scores of bench and jury trials in Connecticut’s state and federal courts. In addition, he has been counsel on more than 40 separate appeals to the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts.
Mr. Barrett is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, recognized by the bench and bar as a leading practitioner in the area of matrimonial law. He currently serves as the co-chair of the Hartford Bar Associations’ Family Law Section, a role he has held since 2005. Mr. Barrett served as the statewide chair of the Family Law Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Section from 2000 to 2004, and was a Barrister in the Oliver Ellsworth Inn of Court from 2000 to 2003. Mr. Barrett frequently serves as a Special Master, a role that is appointed by a court to oversee one or more aspects of litigation, in Hartford, New Britain and Middletown. He was selected to serve as a Special Master in Hartford’s Early Intervention Program in 2007, and in 2008 was elected to the board of directors of the Children’s Law Center.
Mr. Barrett has lectured and written frequently on appellate practice and family law, and is co-author of the book Same Sex Marriage: The Legal and Psychological Evolution in America. Mr. Barrett received his B.A. from Trinity College in 1992 and his J.D. from American University, in Washington D.C. in 1995. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York and has served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Connecticut School of Law.
Mr. Kukucka represents clients in cases involving dissolution of marriage, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, property division, alimony, parental relocation, child custody visitation and child support. He has substantial first-chair trial and appellate experience and has been counsel on many appeals to the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts. He, too, has served as a Special Master in the judicial districts of Hartford, New Britain and Middlesex.
In 2013 and 2014 Mr. Kukucka was selected as a Rising Star in the area of matrimonial law by the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and was named a “New Leader in the Law” in 2013 by the Connecticut Law Tribune newspaper for his contributions to the development of the law.
Mr. Kukucka is admitted to practice before Connecticut’s federal and state courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He is a member of the Connecticut and Hartford County Bar Associations
Mr. Kukucka received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Connecticut in 2003 and his J.D., magna cum laude, in 2006 from Roger Williams University School of Law. Following graduation he served as a legal research clerk to the judges of the Connecticut Superior Court and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Francis M. McDonald and the Honorable Robert I. Berdon at the Connecticut Appellate Court.
